Making Backyard Inoculum Compost
Our 5 step guide to making compost at home
STEP 1 - Clean up the yard
STEP 2 - Layer up 1-2 cu mts of materials including "brown waste", "green waste" and "manures"
STEP 3 - Water constantly while making the stack, mist the water in for even moisture distribution
STEP 4 - Monitor water and temperature: Turn when dry and re-water, turn if it gets over 65C to "cool it down"
STEP 5 - Voila! We have inoculum compost of the quality required to make "compost tea". This is all completed in less than 8 weeks, 1 cu mts of inoculum is sufficient to make enough compost tea to apply to 100 hectares!
